What does balance in life mean to you?

For me, balance means a healthy lifestyle - finding peace and joy where I am now. Culture, travel, exercise, and people also contribute to me learning and achieving a more balanced lifestyle. I love going to museums, dining out, going to the theater, experiencing new cities, getting my heart rate up, and meeting new personalities. It gives me a thrill because it starts a conversation and makes me tune into my body. Being able to experience and see new things makes life a bit more colorful, and even though I love coloring inside the lines, it's okay to color outside them and occasionally lose balance.

I regularly strive to find that balance in life where I can do both without it defining me. I love lying on my couch eating candy, but I also love boxing and practicing yoga. I'm incredibly social, but I also enjoy my own company. I want to experience more of the world, but still have my base in Copenhagen. I'm a city girl, but I still love the sea and nature. Yes, I need high energy, but I also need complete calm.

If I can have a little bit of both worlds, have time to immerse myself and still remember to enjoy the present moment, then I think I've found a balanced and healthy way to live.

What does balance in the world mean to you?

It means that we keep up with the times, but still dare to stand by our own choices. Balance in the world is that we are constantly learning and listening to each other, but at the same time accepting that everyone is different - and not everyone lives the same way.

We also live in a world right now where everything is moving very quickly, but if we slow down the pace a bit, it will help with balance. That means prioritizing and investing in proper quality - personally, I'd rather have less, but better. A couple of examples could be buying a good quality sweater instead of four of mediocre quality. It could also mean supporting the small local bakery that uses organic products, or only buying meat from the butcher, choosing to drink good coffee, but in your own to-go cup, or generally just supporting good ingredients and buying more locally.

"I love coloring inside the lines, so it's okay to color a little outside them and lose balance now and then."
