What is the biggest risk you’ve ever taken, and what did you learn from it?

The biggest risk must have been when I decided to start Blueye Robotics in 2015. It was my biggest dream to bring the ocean closer to people, so we can all understand it and take care of it.

Being part of starting a tech company, building a culture and seeing our underwater drones out in the world has been truly magical. It taught me a lot about people and collaboration – and I learned that the only limitations that exist are the ones I allow. It is my responsibility to make the most of my own potential. There’s no point in blaming others, and there is so much to learn from making mistakes.

Which habit or mindset shift has had the greatest positive impact on your life?

I’ve found that when I look for opportunities, they are there – but if I look for problems, they are there too. Life is much more fun when I focus on the first.

I also realised that by saying YES – even to things I haven’t tried before – I always gain valuable learning and open new doors.

Who has been your biggest inspiration, and how have they influenced your journey?

I’m inspired by many people in different areas, and I’m greatly influenced by those I’m close to. That’s why I choose them carefully – people who have a positive mindset, who are happy and who put effort into what they believe in.

At the moment, I’m especially inspired by my son – he reminds me that every day is a new opportunity to experience something new and share good energy with the people around me.

Looking back on your journey, is there any advice you wish you had received earlier in your career or life?

I am very sensitive, but I grew up seeing it as a weakness. I would tell my 20-year-old self that it’s a strength to show emotions – and even better to be able to put them into words.

At the end of the day, we bring our whole selves into every situation we’re in, and if we practice using our full toolbox, we can build something much greater.

If you could change one thing for women globally, what would it be – and why?

Equal opportunities and rights – I believe that would make the world a better place for everyone to live in.
