What is your relationship with the ocean?

I associate the ocean with the unknown, and it reminds me how much we still have to learn. It gives you a sense of humility.

What is your best memory of the ocean?

Swimming with sharks at the Great Barrier Reef. It felt like receiving a very special gift to have the chance to see their lives up close beneath the surface.

What inspires you about nature?
Nature teaches you about resilience and respect. You can learn an incredible amount about yourself and who you are as a person based on how you interact with nature.

What do you do to make everyday life more sustainable?

There are so many simple everyday choices we can make to consume less or differently, and thereby produce less waste. For example, I use cold water for my laundry and wait to buy new groceries until we’ve used everything in the fridge. We also often buy secondhand when we need something for the household.

Why and how are you raising your daughter to live sustainably?

My daughter follows my example and understands what a gift it is to explore nature, and that we should earn the privilege. Sometimes that means cleaning up after others who haven’t valued nature in the same way. This winter, we’ve removed more than 45 kg of trash from nature.

What values do you want to pass on to your daughter?

I hope Rosie will understand the value of nature and the animals that live in it. We cannot enjoy nature’s beauty and growth without respecting its importance ourselves.

How would you style the Ocean Flow jewelry?

My styling of Ocean Flow is inspired by the things I love about nature. I love the layers you can see in nature in the mountains, waves, and trees. Stacking necklaces and rings is therefore always my go-to style. I also find mixing elements from nature inspiring. That’s why I love mixing different metals and elements when creating my jewelry look.
