Why lab-grown diamonds?
Diamond mining has long been in focus due to both environmental and human consequences. Mining can take place under harsh working conditions and can damage nature, destroy biodiversity and leave land unusable.
Lab-grown diamonds are created by recreating nature’s processes: a small piece of carbon is exposed to high pressure and high heat over a period of weeks, shortening a process that normally takes millions of years down to just a few months. The result is a diamond with the same chemical, physical and optical properties as a natural diamond – assessed according to the same 4 Cs: Clarity, Cut, Colour and Carat.
The biggest difference is that lab-grown diamonds are created above ground, while natural diamonds are extracted from mines. That is why lab-grown diamonds are a more responsible choice with less impact on both the environment and people – without compromising on quality or sparkling brilliance.
